This is the one thing that’s keeping you from connecting to your unconscious
Are you focusing on your breath?
Concentrating on a guide’s voice?
Trying to stay with the practice?
These same things have been stopping you from going within.
There are jobs for our conscious mind and those for our unconscious.
Trying, concentrating, focusing…in fact anything that involves deliberate effort falls in the turf of the conscious mind.
So does anything verbal (labelling) and the pushing and pulling (judging, resisting).
They all need our conscious mind to be active and alert.
And when our conscious is very active it’s hard to sense the unconscious. It’s like looking for stars in the daylight.
The way within is simple
Be passive🧘🏽♀️
Do nothing. The key is awareness… a sort of soft focus.
What about the thoughts that come?
Let them come, and go. Like a bird flying through the sky of your mind.
As long as you do none of these- engage, resist, judge, label- thoughts will keep passing through.
And if you catch yourself doing any of them, stop and go back to awareness and observation.
I get it. Not trying is hard.
(Trust me, I do. It's hard for me too!)
The thing to remember is that you’re never doing nothing, even if you’re not ‘actively’ doing things 🤔
We are bustling with action, physically and mentally, whether we’re running a marathon or sleeping in our bed.
There’s no slacking in not toiling.
Just let your conscious mind rest a while, while your unconscious runs the show.
