Finding your way back from a bad place is the ultimate life skill! You already know how to do it
All of us go to negativity.
And all of us return.
It’s still messy. And often scary.
We react to bad things by fight, flight or freeze
Resist and judge (fight)
Wish this hadn’t happened (flight)
Stuck in a daze (freeze)
These habitual responses create a fog and we lose ours bearings in it😶🌫️
There is a simple way out
Pause and let it be.
Find out whether you’re in fight, flight or freeze, or a combination.
Most of us lean toward one or two. I resist, almost always.
Feel your way through, sensing your body and mind.
Housekeeping rules:
No words, descriptions or judgement 🗣
No brainstorming - for solutions or disasters
No past/future tenses
Feeling the same situation is 10X more tolerable than rambling about it in our heads
Trust me here, I was a habitual rambler 🙇🏽♀️
Feeling through something generates surprising insights
I’ve ended up with realisations from ‘my real concern was way removed from what I’d been obsessing about’ to ‘there’s this easy hack to side-step an end of the world scenario’ 😉
This is very simple
And like other simple things, it’s hard to wrap our complex brains around.
But it’s an easy route to our unconscious mind. And a cool trick to add to our bag!
